Play it via MIDI

You don't need to know the instrument, or music. It is tuned so that you cannot play a wrong note: every key falls to the nearest tone that fits what is sounding, near the octave you played. Plug in and play.

  1. Open the instrument in Google Chrome.
Playing over MIDI needs Web MIDI, and that runs in Chrome. Headphones on, and start soft.
  2. Connect your keyboard or controller, then click once on the page.
The click starts the sound (browsers wait for a first touch). Any USB MIDI keyboard works.
  3. Allow MIDI when the browser asks.
A small prompt appears the first time. Say yes.
  4. Choose your device in the instrument's MIDI in menu.
A dropdown on the page, sometimes under Options or stel in. Pick your keyboard by name.
  5. Play.
Press any keys. It stays in tune with itself, so wander freely. Lower keys tend to sit deep, higher keys open and lift.
On a ROLI or other MPE controller: pressing harder swells each note, and sliding a key morphs it, per note. There is nothing to switch on, it just responds. On a normal keyboard everything still works; MPE only adds the per-note touch.

If you hear nothing: click the page once, check the volume, and make sure your device is chosen in the MIDI in menu. Chrome only.
